˚✮ARTIST SPOTLIGHT: JWASABI✮˚

Wilmington, Delaware’s own Jwasabi is crafting a sound that refuses to fit in just one box , blending rap, R&B, and alternative into something uniquely his own.

Music has been a part of Jwasabi’s life for as long as he can remember. Growing up, he was constantly surrounded by it. From his dad putting him on to Lil Wayne and Biggie to spending hours discovering new sounds on his tablet. He was always the kid rapping or singing every song word-for-word, and before long, that passion grew into the urge to make his own music. In 2020, he finally decided to turn that passion into reality and hasn’t looked back since.

When it comes to his style, it’s not something that can be boxed in. Jwasabi’s music sits somewhere between worlds — pulling from Rap, R&B, and the creativity of alternative sounds. It’s a reflection of his mindset: experimental, confident, and ever-evolving.

His biggest source of inspiration? Real life. “By doing music longer, I’ve realized going through things — especially bad shit — really can turn into the purest form of art if you can change your perspective on it and turn it into inspiration,” he says. Artists like Lil Tecca, Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Uzi, and Yachty have all influenced his journey, but he credits his friends just as much for pushing him creatively and personally.

Now, with momentum building, Jwasabi is ready to step into his next chapter. He’s got a new single, Back to the Basement, dropping in just a few weeks, with a major surprise on the way as he gears up for his upcoming project. “Everything is about to go up now tho fs,” he says confidently.

Jwasabi is an artist fueled by passion, pain, and pure drive — and this is only the beginning.
