25 years old and repping Columbia, MD, Jabbagotdajuice brings raw honesty and fearless energy to everything she does, along with her signature green aesthetic that’s her own.
I loved her set at the Milky Music Media ECLIPSE showcase, an all-women lineup where she delivered an amazing, captivating performance.
Music has always been part of her life. She played viola, wrote songs, and sang in chorus from elementary through high school. But it wasn’t until 2021 that she decided to truly go for it.
“I always wrote music and played around with it but I decided to take it seriously in 2021 because I was facing postpartum depression,” she shares. “I felt like the main reason I wasn’t happy was because I wasn’t chasing my dreams as an artist.”
For her, genre doesn’t matter as long as it’s authentic. “I like any song I can relate to,” she says. Lately she’s been getting into drum and bass and wants to experiment more with alternative rock.
Her influences show just how broad her sound can be. Growing up, it was Chief Keef, Nicki Minaj, Paramore, Lady Gaga, Avril Lavigne, Aaliyah, and Missy Elliot. Today she finds inspiration in Lil Uzi Vert, Tierra Whack, Tay K, and Deftones, a mix that’s raw, and experimental.
Early tracks like Nana, Flava Freestyle, Ashtray Taps, and Hostility Catharsis show that first spark. But her latest project goes deeper than ever.
“The journey of loving myself more to not only establish boundaries but enforcing them has been my biggest inspiration,” she explains. “Trying to find the balance in being compassionate of others and speaking my mind has been hard. I come off blunt and I don’t want anyone to perceive me as a bitch but by me holding my tongue it eats me up inside. So this project is me being unapologetically me with no restraints.”
That’s exactly what she brought to the ECLIPSE stage. No filter. No fear. Just truth.
No upcoming shows announced yet, but trust, this is just the start. Jabbagotdajuice is someone to watch.
